I am absolutely in love with DENY Design’s new Faux Deer Mounts. I’m desperate to get one, but until they go on sale again, I will have to wait…

Though taxidermy is nothing new, DENY Designs have given a modern update to the concept by printing them on heavy-duty thermoplastic that outweighs the usual cardboard animal head mount that you would find at Urban Outfitters. The coolest part is that when viewing the mounts head on, the pieces come together to form a picture — be in a photograph or piece of art from one of DENY Designs’ hundreds of artists. To top it all off, you can also choose a secondary colour for the mounting board. Each purchase also supports local art communities from around the world, and each DENY Designs artist gets a percentage of he profits when their work is chosen.

Happy hunting!

Skulls and skeletons, (including a Thylacine skull in the second-to-last photo!)

The skeletons were pretty incredible, especially the elephants. The photos don’t show juts how massive and imposing they were.

This little feller is made using a Fruit Bat skull and Black Snake vertebrae. The little bastard’s teeth were even darker than they are in this picture. It took quite a bit of cleaning to get his teeth to this state. Available in my shop with 4 different colored chains.
